"The year is 1924. When Shirley Howell, a young woman from rural Massachusetts, ventures to New York to reconnect with her sister, Peggy, she finds herself working at a burlesque cabaret known as ‘The Limelight.’ With the looming threat of the club being shut down by a self-righteous investigator and the club’s performers fighting poverty, blunders are made and tensions build in acts of desperation."
